A new law has been passed for pensions. This means the Shell Pension scheme will also change.
Why is our pension system changing?
The government believes it is important that everyone, also our future generations, can count on having a good pension. This can't be fully achieved in the current system. It means that all pension schemes in the Netherlands will need to change, including Shell's.
Preparations in full swing
Shell, in its capacity as employer, has already dedicated a lot of time and effort on the preparations for the upcoming changes and on holding talks with the Central Works Council (COR). Together, they have drawn up the new pension scheme in concept. The right to be heard was exercised in early May by the Voeks ‘right to be Heard’ Committee’(VHC). We expect the social partners to take a final decision before this summer. You can find all major information on the scheme on nieuwpensioenbijshell.nl. The social partners will submit a consent request for the new pension scheme to the boards of the pension funds (SNPS and SSPF). Both boards will then assess the proposed pension scheme on issues such as practicability. In doing so, they will weigh up the interests of all participant groups.
