Your pension overview (UPO) is now available
Each year you receive a Uniform Pension Overview, or UPO, from us.
View the overview of your pension
The UPO tells you how much pension you have accrued with Shell. And which insurance has been arranged for your surviving relatives in the event of your death. In my-Shell pension we have collected all important information on your pension. There you find your UPO too.
Or consult the special page for more information.
Additional explanation for participants of SNPS (start employment on or after 1 July 2013 or participating in the Shell Net Pension Scheme).
How we calculate your expected pension benefit in your UPO
We calculate your expected pension benefit using economic scenarios from De Nederlandsche Bank. Scenarios are expectations about how, for example, investments and interest rates will develop in the future. In the new scenarios, both expected returns on investments and interest rates are lower than last year. As a result, your expected pension benefit is down from last year, even though the value of SNPS investments increased in 2023. You see a difference between your UPO and my-Shell pension
As in your UPO, you will also see the expected level of your pension on my-Shell pension. For more information, go to “My pension at...”. The estimate on my-Shell pension is always the most up-to-date. You can also track the development of your pension capital here at “How is your pension capital developing?”. Please note: Your UPO shows the balance on 1 January 2024. This is why there is a difference between your UPO and my-Shell pension.
The tax limit for participation in the Net Pension Scheme has increased
You join the Shell Net Pension Scheme if your salary exceeds the tax limit. This limit also increased in 2024. This means your pension accrual will change. You accrue more pension under the Gross Pension Scheme and less pension or no longer any pension under the Net Pension Scheme. The UPO shows the balance on 1 January 2024. You can always see the latest balance in the prognoses on my-Shell pension. This allows you to see if you are still participating in the Net Pension Scheme in 2024:
• Do you participate in the SSPF gross pension scheme (employed before 1 July 2013)? In that case, you participate in the Net Pension Scheme in 2024 if your salary exceeds € 127,603.
• Do you participate in the SNPS gross pension scheme (employed on or after 1 July 2013)? In that case, you participate in the Net Pension Scheme in 2024 if your salary exceeds € 121,951.
It is not fixed how much pension you will ultimately receive
The value of the investments may change. Read more about this on our special page about the UPO.
