New Chairman for SNPS Fund: Tjerk Huijsinga

The Hague, 25 February 2025

Shell Nederland Pensioenfonds Stichting (SNPS) welcomes the appointment of Tjerk Huijsinga as the new independent chairman of SNPS, effective 1 March 2025. Tjerk Huijsinga succeeds Martin ten Brink.

Tjerk Huijsinga brings his vast experience to this position as chairman. With a successful 35-year career at Shell, where he last held the position of Executive Vice-President Investor Relations until June 2024, he has proven to have a deep knowledge of the financial sector. He also held the ancillary position of chairman of the Supervisory Board of Shell Nederland B.V. in The Hague for almost three years. His extensive managerial and financial experience and strategic insight will be of great value to SNPS.

Martin ten Brink, who has been (independent) chairman of the boards of SNPS and SSPF since 1 July 2020, remains active as chairman of SSPF. Under his leadership, SNPS has made significant progress and achieved positive returns. The SNPS board thanks Martin ten Brink for his dedication and leadership and looks forward to his continued contribution to SSPF.

Martin ten Brink: “I wish Tjerk every success in his new role. We have done well with SNPS to anticipate the new system, and I am confident he will lead SNPS to new heights.”

Tjerk Huijsinga: “I am honoured to take on this role and look forward to working with the team to realise a good pension for our participants. I would like to thank Martin ten Brink for his excellent work and am determined to build on his successes. The implementation plan was successfully submitted by the board to DNB at the end of 2024. This allows us to build on the experience SNPS already has in working according to the principles laid down in the Future Pensions Act."
